NON-PROFIT BUDGETING & MONITORING

How much can you spend on compensation this year?  What are your budget priorities? Are you on target with your grant expenses?  Nonprofit leaders and managers need to build their skills in financial management.  Expecting the organization’s finances to operate on autopilot is asking for trouble. This session will outline the process for developing a budget, discuss who should be responsible for the budget, and techniques for monitoring the budget and program accomplishments.

How much of your revenue is coming in via credit cards? If you are like most non-profits, it’s a growing number. The cost of processing these transactions is also growing.

This session will help to demystify the costs of accepting credit or debit cards. We will outline the rules and regulations you must com-ply with, including the Payment Card Industry Data Security Standards (PCI DSS). Lastly, you will understand the new Red Flag Rules related to identity theft.

Charity is an associate in the Firm's Labor & Employment group. Ms. Price received a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from Wellesley College before receiving her law degree from George Washington University.  Ms. Price represents employers in all aspects of the employer-employee relationship. Her experience includes the defense of multi-national companies as well as small and mid-sized employers in litigation matters.  Ms. Price also specializes in counseling management in labor and employment issues, emphasizing timely analysis and practical solutions to accomplish organizational goals and legal compliance. Kathy Broadbent, Document Solutions Specialist at Advance – The Document Specialist

Kathy Broadbent is a 10 year veteran of Advance – The Document Specialists. As a sales representative in the Document Management division, her experience spans digital copiers, scanners, and customized software geared towards the transformation of paper processes to a faster, more efficient electronic solution. Her experience with the digitization of workflow processes spans many verticals, including manufacturing, legal, distribution, and nonprofit. Prior to coming to Advance, Kathy worked in the nonprofit sector. She continues to be involved in charitable organizations, volunteering and serving on community boards.
