ACCOUNTING FIRM HALT, BUZAS & POWELL ANNOUNCES NEW HIRE FROM FALL CAMPUS RECRUITING EVENT
ALEXANDRIA, VA., February 1, 2011 – Partners Steve Halt, Mike Buzas, and Andy Powell, of Halt, Buzas & Powell, Ltd. (HB&P), welcome Jonathan A. Adcock to the accounting firm.
HB&P has continued to recruit at local college campuses as part of our overall growth plan. We have successfully recruited from local campuses, including George Mason University, George Washington University and the University of Maryland. "In order to continue to grow and expand our firm, and to sustain our reputation for unrivaled client service, we need to attract the best and the brightest," said Managing Partner, Steve Halt.
Jon Adcock is an exceptional hard worker. He earned double Bachelor degrees in Accounting and in Finance from George Mason University and was a member of the Accounting Honors Program. While attending college, Jon gained valuable experience working in a professional environment as a Project Accounting Assistant and Director of Operations. In addition, he held the positions of Assistant Treasurer and Treasurer for the Theta Chi Fraternity. "Being Treasurer of my fraternity was a big responsibility and being a part of a collective group taught me teamwork," said Jon. "Decisions were made as a group, and our community outreach and social responsibility were highlights to my college career," concluded Adcock.
In his role at HB&P, Jon will work with partners, managers and staff to develop his auditing and taxation skills. When asked what about HB&P stood out, Jon commented that he was most impressed with the level of job satisfaction expressed by the staff during his interviews and the challenge of working in various departments.
