Marco Fernandes and Jesse Luden Join Accounting Firm Halt, Buzas & Powell

ALEXANDRIA, Va., January 25 – Halt, Buzas and Powell has added two new staff members to their growing accounting firm.

Marco Fernandes, a recent graduate of the Robert H. Smith School of Business at the University of Maryland, joins the firm as an Accountant Staff 1. Jesse C. Luden, who will earn a B.S. in Accounting from George Mason University this year, will work as an intern.

“We are very pleased to attract these talented professionals from outstanding local universities to our firm,” said Managing Partner Steve Halt. “Marco and Jesse will assist HB&P’s staff in completing business, nonprofit and individual tax returns. Their skills will also be put to good use in various accounting tasks and in assisting in audits. Like all new staff, we will provide Marco and Jesse with comprehensive training and the tools they need to grow with our firm.”

Marco Fernandes worked for Marriott International as a staff accountant and at Chevy Chase Bank as a Customer Relations Specialist as he completed his B.S. in Accounting and General Business at the University of Maryland.

Jesse Luden also brings business and accounting experience to HB&P, having worked as Business Manager for the Springfield, Virginia Community Business Partnership and as an Account Assistant for LeMay and Company, also in Springfield.
