HALT, BUZAS & POWELL ANNOUNCES STAFF PROMOTIONS AND NEW HIRE

ALEXANDRIA, Va., October 18, 2006 – Partners Mike Buzas, Steve Halt and Andy Powell, of accounting firm Halt, Buzas and Powell announced two staff promotions as well as the addition of a new staff accountant today.

Erica Roque, who passed her CPA exam this summer, has been promoted to Supervisor from Senior Accountant. Erica joined the firm when she was studying accounting at George Mason University. As a Senior Accountant she had worked on various projects, including overseeing many of the firm’s audits of various clients.

She serves on the firm’s Paperless Committee and has been instrumental in developing HB&P’s paperless procedures. Additionally, she provides audit and software training and serves as a mentor to other accounting staff.

Rebecca Jex has been promoted to Staff Accountant II. Ms. Jex, a graduate of the University of Nebraska, has worked in HB&P’s outsourcing department for over a year. Her accounts include the National Insulation Association, JTG, Inc., and American Council for Technology.

HB&P also announced that Mrs. Oyniso Shamsieva has joined the firm as a Staff Accountant I. Initially she will work on various client tax returns and assist in audits. Mrs. Shamsieva holds a BSc in International Economics from the University of World Economy and Diplomacy, Tashkent City, Uzbekistan and will earn a Master of Accountancy from the George Washington University School of Business in December 2007.
