SANIYA ALKHARUSI JOINS HALT, BUZAS & POWELL, LTD AS STAFF I ACCOUNTANT

ALEXANDRIA, VA., September 11 –  CPA and Management Consulting firm Halt, Buzas & Powell, Ltd. (HB&P) announced today that Saniya Alkharusi has joined the firm as Staff I Accountant.

“The Partners are very pleased to have Saniya join the firm,” said Partner Mike Buzas. “Her maturity, positive attitude, academic and social achievements are remarkable.”

Ms. Alkharusi earned a Bachelor of Accounting degree from George Washington University in 2007 and her Masters of Accountancy in May 2008, also from George Washington University. “Evidence of her academic achievements is that Saniya eschewed an immediate start at our firm upon completion of her MBA in May in favor of intense preparation for passing the CPA exam,” noted Buzas.

Ms. Alkharusi worked as a Graduate Teaching Assistant in GWU’s Department of Accountancy in 2007, where she assisted in the construction of midterm and final exam questions for the Financial Statement Analysis course. She also interned at a consulting firm where she supported its internal auditor in ensuring the accuracy and compliance with government laws. Her involvement with the Epilson Sigma chapter of Beta Alpha Psi and many non-profit organizations in the U.S. and The Sultanate of Oman, over the past four years has helped shape Ms. Alkharusi into the young professional she is today.

In addition to her impressive academic and social achievements, Ms. Alkharusi is fluent in English and Arabic and proficient in Swahili.
