Partner-in-Charge of Accounting and Audit Practice
Andy Powell heads our Mitchellville, Md. office. He has over twenty years of auditing, operational and financial experience in both large and small organizations. His broad range of expertise includes the auditing of both privately and federally funded non-profits, in accordance with the GAAS, Yellow Book, and various other Federal and state requirements. He is well versed in the budgeting process and the business practices, policies and procedures of non-profit organizations.
Mr. Powell's client background includes such organizations as the Duke Ellington School for the Arts, Strategies for the Global Environment, Inc., National Hospice and Palliative Care Organization, Capitol Drywall, American Whitewater Affiliation, Inc., Community of Caring, Inc., and Center for International Environmental Law.
Mr. Powell holds a BA in Accounting from the University of Maryland. He serves as Treasurer of the Odenton Heritage Society, Inc., and the Alexandria Chamber of Commerce. Mr. Powell is a member of the AICPA and the Maryland Association of CPAs. He is a sought-after speaker on a number of non-profit matters at professional conferences and seminars.
