Carol Mount, CPA (Retired)
During her time with Halt, Buzas & Powell, Carol Mount was a caring and trustworthy advisor. She practiced tax and accounting in the Washington, DC area for more than 20 years, and her professional responsibilities included all stages of tax engagements. Carol retired from the firm effective October 15, 2015 and relocated to Tucson, AZ with her husband.
Carol specialized in tax compliance and tax planning for individuals, businesses, exempt organizations, and estates and trusts. She also provided tax research and analysis in complex areas and assisted in federal and state tax audits. She often assisted clients in times of transition such as when they started a business, purchased a rental property, experienced a death in the family, or other life changes. She enjoyed supervising and training staff in tax matters and presenting tax updates to the community.
Carol was named by Northern Virginia Magazine as one of the Top Financial Professionals in the category of Income Tax Preparation and Planning in 2014 and 2015 and was recognized as a Top Tax Accountant by the Washingtonian Magazine in 2014. She was also honored with the Humanitarian Award during the 2011 tax season for being most likely to help.
Carol loves staying active. Some of her favorite hobbies include jogging, cycling, and traveling. She also enjoyed being involved with the McLean Bible Church during her time in Virginia. Carol can often be found at bike races with her family.
