On Friday, September 18, staff from Halt, Buzas & Powell volunteered at the Arlington Food Assistance Center (AFAC) as part of the annual CPA Day of Service. Twelve staff members gathered together to help bag various food items such as produce and oatmeal, and to restock food items such as bread and pastries. The hundreds of pounds of food bagged and restocked will be distributed to nearly 2,200 families in the following week.
The Virginia CPA Day of Service, hosted each year by the Virginia Society of Public Accountants (VSCPA), is a single day of volunteer service wraps up Virginia CPA Week and represents the CPA profession’s ongoing commitment to serving the communities where its professionals work and live. Approximately 700 people statewide volunteer each year either as individuals, as a group, or as a firm. This is Halt, Buzas & Powell’s second year participating in the day of service.
