Interns and Recent Grads

We are always looking for interns and recent graduates to join our accounting staff. To apply, please email your resume to careers@cpas4you.com. Pay:

HBP interns are paid $24 per hour.
Recent graduates who are hired as staff I accountants have a starting salary of $58,000.
$5,000 compensation supplement to help cover added costs of health benefits.
Ability to receive compensation or paid time off for additional hours worked beyond budgeted hours.

Transportation:

Our office is a 20-minute walk from the Braddock Road Metro station on the yellow and blue lines.
Our office complex provides free shuttle bus service for employees running every 10-15 minutes.
HBP offers employer-paid parking to commuters ($1,500 value).
Note: recent graduates who are hired as staff I accountants may need to travel to client sites that are not Metro accessible.

CPA Exam Support:

Halt, Buzas & Powell supports and encourages its employees studying for their CPA exams. HBP employees have access to discounted study materials through either Becker or Yaeger CPA review.

Audit vs. Tax:

Possibly the most unique aspect of being a staff I accountant at HBP is the experience you will gain with both the tax and audit aspects of accounting. Rather than beginning in one of the two departments, you will balance your time and training between audit and tax, allowing you to decide which you may prefer to specialize in as you advance. As a new hire, you will have access to knowledgeable professionals in both departments in order to gain skills in both fields. Through HBP’s open-door policy, staff members on every level have the ability to learn from each other and from upper-level management every day.
